I seeking some advice for Outlook (thick client) access to a remote exchange server, i.e. via interweb. I have exchange webmail enabled and I'm currently using HTTP activesync successfully on mobile devices. I've set HTTP connection on Outlook client and verified that the Exchange host IP address resolves correctly, however, I'm wondering if I need to open additional ports to the Exchange server to allow remote access, i.e. other that the SSL currently open?

If you configured your Outlook client to use RPC over the HTTPS proxy then you shouldn't need anything but port 443 forwarded.

Thanks M, I'll keep experimenting, do I need to turned Cached mode off?

sorted it. Running SBS, thought I would go to the site to verify HTTP access, tried to logon to Remote Workspace and didn't have access. Added access in AD and logged. Once logged on, SBS provided a step by step guide for configuration, and away we go.
