Im after recommendations for possible replacement software for Lawbase
Bundled Document Management would be a definite bonus , cloud based Packages would also be something to consider

Just considering options as PC/servers with win7/SBS2011 go end of life next year and would be a good time to consider
other Legal Practice Software at the same time

Migration of the Lawbase database to any new package will be a Must Have

Cheers

Check out Actionstep would be my recommendation.  I have a few customers running it.  It looks like it can import lawbase into it as well.  It is web based though.

1101: I'm after recommendations for possible replacement software for Lawbase ...

I like Alternativeto.net for recommendations of other software. They don't have an entry for Lawbase, but this is one for Actionstep.

Capterra seems to be a professional version of Alternativeto.net. Actionstep can also migrate from these other sources.

The firm I used to work at in NZ used Infinitylaw until they outgrew it (got to about 100 lawyers). Does full practice management, including DMS. Used to be run by Fujitsu, then Reuters brought them about 4 years ago.

It's been a while (10 years or so) since I've done IT for Legal, but where I worked in Sydney (approx 110 staff) used to use Affinity (also now a LexisNexus product) and LEAP.

The smaller firm my wife works at uses ActionStep, she did most of the implementation, along with the ActionStep consultant. They seem to really like it, but don't underestimate the amount of work it takes to get everything working the way you want it. Best guess three to six person months from someone with legal / practice management / intermediate IT skills (don't need to be a developer or anything).
