Hi folks,

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I figured there'll be enough IT Pros here with plenty of experience. I'm only a dev dabbling in server stuff!

I have Windows 2008 R2 at home and would like to stick a Linux VM on Hyper-V. I've got OpenSuse 11 installed...the screen is up...BUT! I have no mouse control on the VM! D'oh! I tried various keys but I'm not sure what are the shortcuts for Gnome desktop on OpenSuse. Previous to this I installed Ubuntu Lucid Server edition but had problems with networking.

Has anyone successfully installed and run a Linux distro on Hyper-V? It seems there are various mentions of successes on the web but details are thin on install procedures and such.

Cheers,
D.

Check this post on OpenSuse and Hyper-V for some information you might find useful...

CentOS works fine - I've used it on numerous occasions for testing PBX stuff.

Ubuntu works great on Hyper-V too.

You could always setup VNC on your Linux so you can control it with the mouse that way.
