I can confirm HTC phones sold new in NZ have a two year warranty (got mine fixed after 14 months,). Not sure about parallel imports. Have you tried to start it using a hard reboot? Plugged in, by pressing and holding the power button down until it reboots (about 10-15 seconds).

Its alive...

2 hours on a kindle charger with no result, then 7 hours on the htc charger with no change, then this morning put it back on the kindle charger and after an hour its spontaneously entered the bootup screen !!.

Now charging on the htc charger again with 60%+.

Going to backup and use the dredded factory reset and see what happens.

HTC confirmed that they officially received Android Lollipop today, so the clock is started for the 90 days to update the M7 and M8. Which would make it early February to meet their 90 day deadline, plus say two months for carrier approval, makes it early April for local handsets.

Yeah, but they said 90 days for KitKat too!!!! :P

The difference is they are making much more of a 'thing' about it this time round. So you would have to think they have been working on it prior to the official release to try and avoid embarrassment.
By the time it arrived here most will be looking at the M9 or whatever the next iteration is called anyway. Certainly features of Lollipop, like always listening and knock to wake will require compatible hardware so the M7 will miss those anyhow. And as far as I can tell data encryption does show a handset down so once again the 2 year old innards of the M7 might struggle a bit.

I have to say my HTC One M7 has been slower than before with the latest update...

High hopes for the new VM support, perhaps it would make it a bit faster. But who knows, in 90 days I might have a different handset?

Are they making a bigger deal about it this time? I remember a crapload of hype around the "HTC Advantage" and getting KitKat within 90 days...they were all talk back then. I love my M7 but I'm taking the 90-day claim for Lollipop with a grain of salt... #OnceBittenTwiceShy

I agree about the fact that many will be looking at the next flagship device by then...especially given that anyone who bought an M7 soon after launch will be on the verge of exiting from their two year warranty by then also...I'm personally wondering about jumping sooner though as my rear camera has died. Every time I get near the VF store I bought it from to take it in, there is a queue of mostly pissed-off-looking people, which tells me that they've been waiting for quite a while. Couple that with the fact that I REALLY can't be without my phone right now, even for a week or two, and it all adds up to thoughts of an upgrade now rather than later...Which begs the question..."upgrade to what....?" Not sure I want to go to an M8 given that the replacement must surely be within 4 months or so of announcement...plus its specs look a wee bit pedestrian against the likes of the Note 4 and the Nexus 6... :S

From opinions i read stock Lollipop gives even less reason for OEM skins then ever before

How hard is it to convert to GPe if you can't S-OFF your device? I have dev unlocked but due to hboot version or something I have been unable to S-OFF

I converted my M7 to GPe to get Kit Kat and have not looked back, IMHO Google are really starting to get it right

I will be surprised if GPe versions don't see Lollipop this side of Xmas

After the latest stock HTC ROM update my M7 has been pretty slow, with sometimes a lag of a second or so to change between app and homescreen.

Anyway, today it froze and I pushed the power button to have it reset - which it did after a while as epected. It then asked the PIN to decrypt the storage, which I entered correctly - five times. It complained five times the PIN was incorrect but did not decrement the counter... I thought it strange so forced a restart again, which it did and accepted the PIN to decrypt storage, only to freeze at the boot screen with the HTC logo for ten minutes...

It finally came right after a third attempt at restart.

I wonder if storage/memory is corrupted or on the way out...

My M7 seems to be less stable since the 4.4.3 update as well. I had put it down to having some Xposed modules running, but perhaps that isn't the cause.
The lag will only be made worse by having encryption activated from what I have read. My handset is not noticeably different where lag is concerned pre and post update (don't have encryption activated).

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the stock Vodafone rom, even an older version?
