Just got one from Amazon for $399 US.

Did you find a dock? They look almost as hard to find as the tablet itself.

Funny, the only ones I can find on Amazon is the 16GB version (sold by Target) for $449 or the 32GB version for $499 (Sold by Amazon)

Pretty lucky if you found one for $399!

hairy1: Yeah. I have been using Amazon for stuff for a while. The availability of the Asus has been the problem. It also has a worldwide warranty so no difference between buying it here and the US.

Wellll there is a slight difference with the warranty..

The Transformer is covered by an International warranty that is supported locally. You however are not eligible for DOA replacement or pickup service.

You have to keep a close eye on them. When Amazon get some more stock (as opposed to fulfilled by someone like Target) the price goes to the RRP.

The Warranty situation is a lot better than some other items ex Amazon. I can live with shipping to Asus in Auckland.

If it arrives broken or defective it's (usually) a lot less hassle handling it locally. I'll pay extra for that TBH.

I got mine today and am breathing a big sigh of relief as it wasn't DOA.

Beautiful screen. Now to find a sleeve for it and wait for the keyboard to be stocked somewhere other than Taiwan.... I have a feeling there is going to be a big disparity between $620 NZD landed including import GST and the official NZ RRP. I could be proved wrong but the Aussies aren't too impressed with their RRP's.

I don't think there is a chance of it being DOA. The issues that have surfaced have been screen bleed issues and the odd touch screen going dead after some use. It is hard to tell how widespread these issues are. The same issue of screen bleed crops up with ipads too...

My device seems to be pretty well put together. Time will tell though. Between the kids and the wife using it, I can't get near it...
