You guys are getting an awesome deal! And to think just a couple of weeks ago, some sold on TradeMe for $800+. Enjoy the new Nexus! :)

I bought mine from Stationery ages ago and one of the salesperson did mentioned they have some cases & screen protector coming early Jan. I left my contact for them to contact me when it arrives.

I bought cases for my S3 from Ebay and ended up spending a lot of money on cases I didn't really like, rather wait for local retailer to have them.

Put in the discount code 'NEXUS25' for 25% discount.

I wasn't as crafty as some of you guys, so just ordered one from the Bond and Bond website on the 25th for $640. Payment cleared yesterday morning. Now waiting for the email to pick up.

Anyone similarly waiting, or have an idea of the wait time?

btw, first post. Hi all!

Anyone think the 8gb model will ever be released in NZ?

I don't need anywhere near 16gb storage with most of my stuff being in the cloud, so would prefer to save some cash and get the 8gb model which I feel is far better bang for buck.

Thinking it's unlikely if we are starting to see all this 16gb NZ stock showing up.

It's not likely. The Nexus 7 wasn't available in 8GB either, and the 16GB is being phased out after the release of the 32GB.

The 8GB has been in much higher demand on the play store, but if you're able to snag one when more stock opens up, that's your best bet as the 8GB model falls under the $400 GST threshold.

Even if the 8GB is sold here, I doubt it will be any cheaper than the current Noel Leeming price, which is a steal really, considering the $799 RRP.

Hey bilboabaggins,

I ordered from Noel Leeming on the 24th (which I think is the same parent company as Bond and Bond).

I went into a store earlier (morning of the 27th) to ask for info regarding the wait time, after getting a generic "Processing" email on Boxing Day.

They said that mine would be sent out from the supplier sometime on the 27th and would arrive at the store (as I elected to have it delivered there rather than my home) in a day or two.

Not that there's any certainties in this game, but I figure yours will only be a day or two behind mine.

Hope it arrives soon!

I'm glad you guys got yours' so promptly. Fingers crosses I'll get mine today. It is rather exciting!

Slightly off-topic: has anyone had a go at cutting their sim down to a micro-sim? I heard (anecdotally) that some shops charge a ridiculous fee for it, so am keen to do it myself. Have found some guides online.

I tried 3 vf stores who had all sold out. They would have been free if in stock. Chopped my old one and fits perfectly. But I had another micro sim to use as a guide.

Yeap. Have been using a cut sim for almost a year. Where are you based? Happy to help if you want.
