hio77: Anyone had issues with wifi having no ip randomly?

Haven't noticed no WiFi IP problems but sometimes it seems to "hang" and pages stop loading or apps stop working for a few seconds. It works if I refresh or restart the app.

Interesting. I started using the Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 app to force DNS via a tunnel and the "hang" doesn't happen anymore. Since then I have switched to use the Private DNS feature instead and it works fine:

It being DNS rather than IP related could make sense...

Hi All,

Looking at the Huawei Mate 20 Pro as an upgrade to my Note 8.

I have a specific use case and wondering if anyone can speak to whether this will meet my needs...

I'm about to take up a job in the UAE, leaving NZ for 5+ years.

I'm currently with 2 Degrees and want to maintain my 2 Degrees number for the duration of my time away, with the intent of using Wifi calling to stay in touch with people in NZ etc.

If I pick up the 2 Degrees dual sim Mate 20 Pro, keep the 2 Degrees SIM in one slot solely for WiFi calling, either blocking cellular service or some other roaming restriction/bill block to prevent cellular usage, and a local carrier in the other for all local needs, will this work?

Are there any specific fish hooks with my plans?

(I'm aware of the VOIP restrictions within the UAE etc)

Thanks in advance

You don't even have to keep the sim card on the phone. If you mean wifi calling like What's App, Viber or VOIP apps, then your original number which you registered with them will remain the same and you can use them wherever unless you reset the Apps, However, if you wish to receive calls and texts on your NZ number then you have to keep it activated. There are also some services which can divert your NZ number to overseas while you are away ( I do not know any in NZ but I am sure there should be)

I have just back ordered one Mate Pro from Noelleeming.  The deal was looking good as giving a headphone and a wireless charger for Free. Went to Harvey Norman and they couldn't match it. Just wish they could upgrade the headphones to Beats Studio Wireless for a cost!!

I have the Mate 10 (not Pro) and love it. While not the 20 it may help you. Speakers are good (tho not true stereo and not sure if this has changed. You will need to read many reviews to establish as I had the Mate 8 with single and this was a big change wanted. On the 10 one end is emulated but it is hard to tell unless up close to phone). I wanted a headphone socket. I wanted 4:3 vs 16:9 as long skinny (for me) is stupid to watch videos on. The battery is amazing (better than Pro in case of the 10). I have to work hard to use it in one day and mostly its 85-50 something at night when recharge. I have even dropped a couple of times and no issues. Charges super fast so wireless charge is a non issue for me.

I put both the 10 and 10 Pro side by side and are still 100% happy chose not to go with Pro. If I was buying a 20 would be then non-pro again.

Has anyone with a green screen returned their phone to PB Tech. What was the turn around time? Has the problem been fixed?

Cheers, Matt
