Now I just have to reload all my apps and settings :-( and figure out which launcher I like and remove the other ones I installed with the ROM.

kiwijunglist: had a few problems trying to DL stock 2.2.1 firmware so went with doc's kitchen which included JL2 modem, then used SGS Tools to enable 3G 850Mhz

How do you check if 3g 850Mhz is enabled? and if it's not how did you enable it?

If you have a Telecom Galaxy S(I9000T) running JL2 there's no need for enabling 850mhz 3G as it is by default like Damager said. I've never needed to enable 850mhz 3G and it's always worked for me being in a rural area with only that frequency.

Hi all,

I have upgraded my i9000 rom many times (with Doc roms) and today went to the Rom Kitchen and made a new one, however now i have the issue of as soon as the phone reboots it gets a F/C and wont allow me to do anything.

I cant even try putting another rom back on the phone as it wont detect the phone in windows arhhhh any ideas ?
i can still get into the recovery option but aside from re flashing the same zip (which isn't working) I'm not sure what to do .

I have tried factory reseting / clearing cache ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

always a good idea to delete the dalvik cache as well.

Just did that, still no good.

It just boots into the o/s pops up error message F/C the only thing i can do is lock and unlock phone

Try calling the phone and answering the call. Then press the home button and try picking a different launcher.

Get an external sd card and put another rom on that then plug it into your phone if you can't get the current one working, or doing a complete reflash of your current rom clearing the cache, dalvik cache and doing factory reset before.

I was wondering, as i don't have a spare sd card, could i use Odin to flash and if so where can you get the Odin flash files ? ( i have only used zip updates)

Can you still get into Recovery and Download mode? Sorry, haven't been following as closely as I should.

You can flash a Hardcore Odin made file and that will get you recovery and root.

The Samsung firmware files are around 120mb in size. You need a login to the website but it's free to sign up.

I don't follow how adding a rom to your external card will help if you can't move it from there to your internal. You can only flash from your internal SD.

Hey Neets,

yeah i'm not to sure about the external sd suggestion (but i dont have one anyway so anyway) I did notice that Darky's v9.2 Extreme Edition has the Odin files so i may try that and see how that goes as i have only ever used the Doc Roms and have been pretty happy with them.

Have you every tried any of Darkys roms ? i just want a speedy reliable rom

The other thing to try is:

- Boot into CWM, and do full factory reset, wipe cache, and clear dalvik cache
- Flash your ROM, and then reboot straight back into CWM - do NOT boot the phone
- Do a 2nd full factory reset, flash your ROM a 2nd time, and then reboot as normalb

Yes, I did try a Darky rom once, I didn't keep it for long. It's a shame you're having this problem. It's pretty rare. I suspect the rom didn't generate properly. Did you happen to check the md5 checksum? There's a little app you can run to make sure the same (long winded) number is created in the zip file as is displayed on the download page. I suspect people don't run it. I used to, but now I just take the risk.

I have a few roms backed up that I could restore from the Recovery menu should things go pear shaped. I would recommend you do this too once you're back up and running :)

The option to "reboot to recovery" I think is under the Advanced ULK option from the first screen. If you can't find it immediately, it's there, just under a sub menu. Though I suspect it will depend on which kernel you're using as to where you find this.
