I'm going to give it a big plus for battery life.

Mine is showing around 21 hours predicted battery for today at this point, charged 12 hours 4 minutes ago. That's pretty good, I think.

I seem to consistently be getting around 6 hours SOT and 22+ hours on battery. That is with fairly heavy use. Social Media, Reddit, YouTube, calls and emails. So pretty happy with that.

I don't do anything special to increase Battery life, as I believe a true test is how well the battery performs with a normal persons usage (who might not necessarily know about special tricks to improve battery life).

I have Auto Brightness, AOD on always, no power saving modes. I use official Facebook and FB Messenger Apps, that can be big battery drainers. I do close Apps regularly so not be operating in the background etc. Wifi on, Bluetooth on all day, Location on too.

So all in all very happy. I think I could get a hell of a lot more out of the phone by changing many of the above...

Cheers!

Yes, I am much the same. I went to bed last night at 0130, turned off the phone and it still showed 35% when I turned it on at 0830. It was last charged at 1030 yesterday morning.

My use is much the same although I do very little social media and run an all black theme (for aesthetics, not power saving!).

Considering the battery is remarked on in most reviews as being smaller than expected, the secret software sauce they have used to make it work so efficiently is impressive I think.

Has anyone noticed and "jelly effect" when scrolling in a web site or social while holding the phone portrait mode? I don't have a Note 8, and haven't heard any complaints about this but I do own a Tab S2 and it has that issue. My understanding is that it's a refresh rate issue with the AMOLED panel when in portrait mode and I just want to make sure it's not an issue on the Note 8.

ZeroLemon have announced a 10,000mah battery case. They also have a 5,000mah case which is currently sold out.

Still waiting on a nice chunky wallet+battery case - hoping someone comes up with a bigger one than i-blades

Anyone see it's further discounted at Harvey Norman in their latest big retail Sale?

Not particularly stoked, discounted so close after release too. Still offering the preorder freebies with it too!

Don't some of the retailers offer to match pricing if you find it cheaper within x days?

Hey, hard to get all 32 pages but I will try my question anyway :). I'm the owner Note 3, and thinking to get Note 8 or Pixel 2 XL, does Note 8 still have pre-installed samsung apps which are impossible to uninstall without a root? Note 3 has a lot of them and getting a root will block other finance apps, so no root for me.

Cheers

It has mail, internet, health - if that is what you mean - most of which are in a folder called 'Samsung Apps' and which I simply ignore. I have not actually tried removing them.

However, that is no different from, say, an iPhone which also comes with Apple's versions of all of those things.

I use third party mail and internet and simply ignored the Samsung ones, never setting them up. Since they are all in a folder on their own, they don't clutter things up and nor (as far as I can tell) do they impact performance simply by being there.

I never had an 'old' Samsung with all the well documented issues of bloatware, Touch Whizz etc to compare to, but I had all the iPhones up to 6 and my wife has a 7 and neither the S8 nor the Note 8 are any slower in real life use than anything I have used before as far as I can tell.

I have been enjoying the device so far. I was going through the device maintainence when it asked me to activate anti virus to go up to 100 else it would stay at 90. Has anyone come across it at all? Worth having it and any way if disabling it if it impacts the device performance?

Is this applicable to those who pre-ordered or is this only for if you purchase a Note 8 as of the time the promo started?

I could not find anywhere that would exclude pre orders.  I am one and just used the invoice number from when i ordered the phone.
