I'm going to get one - not sure whether to use youshop or shipito though? Do we know the package weight and dimensions? I assumed it would be similar to my samsung galaxy s2 but I have no idea.
I am assuming that it would be the same size as my s2 box - According to XDA, the dimensions of the galaxy nexus box are:
Just a fraction over 8 and a half inches (22cm exactly) A touch under 4 inches wide (10cm exactly) A touch under 2 inches high (5cm exactly)
This means that it should (if the box is the same size as the galaxy nexus) have a volumetric weight of 220G, so the package can get larger before the shipping cost being increased. Unless google does a amazon, and packs a tiny box in a massive box with air cells, you should be fine :-).
So I would assume that they will be roughly the same size. NZD is going up, so tomorrow night it will cost $365.21 inc shipping to freight forwarder (8GB), however I am no Forex expert. It is amazing how much difference 1 cent can make.
Currently, all you 8GB'ers, it will cost you 393.01 with youshop. (internal postage: 10.50USD international: 14.08USD)
I'm also really keen. Just deciding between this and the Sony Acro S, I'm already on a Sony and love it. I notice neither phone has a removable battery, what a pain in the ...! I often use GPS and other features so much when I'm out and about that I carry a spare, charged battery in my bag. Won't be able to do that with these phones.
As far as where to buy it goes, I've bought my last two phones and a DSLR through DWI, which is an Australian company who ship direct from Hong Kong. Never had any problems with them although I'm not sure how I'd go about getting warranty work done (perhaps easier than buying from the states though). They have NZ as a shipping option and it's generally free. I actually think they might just think NZ is a state of Australia but in this case it's a good deal so best not to rock the boat!
Anyway they sell the current Nexus so will be interesting to see if they get the new one anytime soon.

I am also in the same boat - acro s or the new nexus.
One thing that does stand out - you cannot dip the nexus in running water.
Planning to buy the 16GB version from the play store in US and have it delivered via prezoom. Expecting customs of about 100NZD :( Anybody knows what would happen if I declare the value at 390NZD ? :D

I don't think you get to declare the value - every package I've ordered from overseas has had the value filled in by the sender?
But the 'Sender' is Google, who wouldn't put a value on a internal shipment?
There is a possibly that youshop would email you and ask the value - what you do then is up to you. Declaring at 390NZD will still put you over that magical $400 mark as shipping is included when it comes to customs.

that right - and there was a dodge place that did put $390 for all phone but custom did not believe iphone / sII was 390 etc and charged though the noise when they notice.
prezoom asked me for the value, when I got the Nexus7. I could have declared anything :) As for the NZD390, prezoom's calculator is estimating that the price will fall under the threshold, and they won't charge any taxes ...
