It's good to see that the good old Sensation is still relevant to some die-hards like myself. Got to admit the ease with which it runs JB is somewhat of a surprise so it's going to be relevant for another year anyway.

Will be getting an S3 in October (unless something better shows up) but I'll be keeping the Sensation as a backup and something I can mess about with firmware wise.

Life is good.

:-)

Cheers all,
R2

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

I too am still watching this thread, but just running stock ICS on mine. I haven't bothered trying to run any custom roms or anything, and probably won't worry about it. But it's nice to know the possibilty is out there, should I decide to. Thanks :)

Interesting comment form the above link:

"While some customers are comfortable taking software updates from ROM sites, we have seen some issues with ‘unofficial’ builds, and recommend waiting for the release from your network operator."

Doesnt say that we have voided our warrantee's  Laughing

I'm loving my Sensation XE

Was previously running InsertCoin ICS but am now happily running OpenSensation CM9
I used to run CM7 on my Desire so I like the non-sense.

Waiting for JB to be fully working before I jump but will do so in a flash :) when its ready.

Thought about Galaxy Nexus and One X but they don't feel like enough of an upgrade.  Maybe the next nexus will be.

Is OpenSensation still being developed? The changelog says 1st of July which is some time ago. I am happy with ARHD but every now and again get the urge to flash something random...

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

It is built from CM9 repository with additional fixes/tweaks.  TamCore nightly builds are right up to date and there is very little activity now on CM9 so the nightlies are very stable at the moment.
TamCore also does a great kernel with extra governers, OC/UV and sweep2wake feature.
Recommended.

Another milestone toward a completely functional Jelly Bean installation on the Sensation. Bruce2728 has just uploaded a new ROM version with a fix completed for the microphone, which should enable Google Now and all those other useful mic-enabled apps lile SoundHound, gStrings guitar tuner, audio recorders and such. Cool.

The camera is still unavailable but the devs have made progress - some functionality but too buggy for release. All very encouraging though.

Cheers,
R2

On my stock Sensation, I had a software update yesterday. Took the software version to 3.33.707.6

Flashed the latest ROM and as predicted, mic functionality is there in full. Google Now is fun - surprisingly accurate take on my "Southern Mainland" accent. Replaced the phone app with one from the earlier ROM simply because the settings menu caused a FC, but otherwise it was working fine as it was. Tomorrow's upload will remove the optional need to do that so it you're planning on jumping to Jelly Bean, wait until the new version of the ROM is up.

Other than that and many little optimisations that have been going on, we're out of new stuff for today. But another day, another step closer to a release ROM.

WooHoo!

Cheers,
R2

I must be the only one that hasn't said "screw you telecom" and gone their own way with updating Laughing

It is getting a bit beyond a joke to be honest. My phone's playing silly buggers again (taking screenshots when tapping the home button and reloading when I back out of apps and the app drawer) which it's already been in for last month.

The annoying thing is a software update would more than likely fix the issues. Although I've heard some getting replaced with the same problems as they had faulty hardware.

Decisions, decisions. Update myself or take it back and get them to sort it (which they probably won't again).

JB is looking promising though (but I do like the look of them fancy G3 thingies Wink)

WOW!! You're right! How exciting Laughing Not that I didn't believe you, but I thought I'd check and I'm downloading it now. Didn't take Telecom long to add their 4 icons and apns Wink

Personally, I would like to take full credit for them releasing it today since it was my post yesterday that did it. haha

Now to see how it goes...
