It looks like very soon I'll be joining the legions of Android users (retiring my Windows Phone). However I can't seem to find a good, realtime pedometer to use to record my steps.

I first used the MSN Health&Fitness app (see: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?topicid=184017 for more info) however it was retired by Microsoft not long after I got my phone. I then moved onto the Active Fitness app, which was good - I could put it in my pocket, walk around and it would record my steps and update the total immediately. It would also reset to 0 at midnight every day, and I could see my steps clocked up back to a month or so, which was great.

I tried a Windows 10 phone and the implementation of this app was rubbish - the updating was slow and it seemed it would update when it felt like it, which is no good to me. The Android implementation of the same app seems to be similar - in fact the layout between Windows Phone 8.1 and 10 is quite different, and 10's is not very user friendly at all.

So, asking as a yet-to-be Android user, what do you use? I need a pedometer that does the following:
- Records my steps in realtime, not update at some arbitrary time

- Resets at midnight every day

- Allows me to view historic steps taken

Does such an app exist?
Thanks in advance smile

Edit: this is one I was looking at - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sharpsol.digitalvalley.pedometer.free&hl=en - does it update in realtime?

I just use Google Fit which is installed on many devices by default, or a simple download from the Play store on devices where the manufacturer chooses to install their own app.
