Hi, can anyone help me with finding what is sending mystery txts on my HTC Desire S?

The problem is that every month for the last 3-4 months there has been at least 2 or 3 txts to an USA/Canada numbers. I'm 100% positive that I haven't sent them or anybody else and there is no record in my phone's history, I only know they have been sent because they appear on my Vodafone invoice. Luckily they aren't to a premium service, they just cost $0.17 each so it's not too much of a problem.

I assume  that an app is sending them but how do I find out which one is doing it?

Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Lance

Have you tried running one of the many anti malware in the Google market? There's a Symantec one to start.

I have AVG installed and it hasn't detected anything, is it good enough to do the job or should I try another?

viber is a voip app, it sends a txt as part of the install and thought it might be that,if you don't have it then that's not your problem

Ok thanks for that.
I don't have any Voip apply or anything like that. My phone isn't rooted either just stock standard.

Yep its is, brought it from Eking before they closed. Don't think it is calling home though as it from SE Asia according to default language settings.
Also I have had the phone for over a year and the txts only started 3months ago so that why suspect an app.

May sound obvious but did you install any apps specifically around the time the texts started?

In settings -> applications -> manage application, have you checked the permissions seen at the bottom of each listing when viewed.

If you see one with SMS permission, one could then check it further.

Just a thought.
