If this is true that would be awesome!

One of the first things I do with android phones is flash a vanilla rom.

Hopefully this will fix alsorts of issues like fragmentation and carrier updates. I'm hopeing that NZ is lumped into the "and Asia" avalibility.

They need to bring back the RGB LED that the Nexus One had.

Best feature of the phone.

When they bring out the 2Ghz 6-core phone with the 1080p Super-ultra-OLED screen, I'll be all over it! :)

This is the way it should be, maybe if/when the concept works hardware manufacturers might sit up and listen and sell hardware which allows the end user to install generic or branded UI?

After using a CM9/GNex themed rom on my S2 I am erring toward trading my S2 for a GNex mainly for the screen and but also for the simplicity of updates and vanilla AOS

I'm not sure that as a samsung user i want to wait an extra 6mths to get 5.0 once it is released

I'd be _amazed_ if Samsung bothered releasing 5.0 for any of the current devices other than _maybe_ the SGS3, and that'd be several months after drop as per usual.

Just a small run for early adopters. As per the last attempt to sell direct, it primes the pump and forces consumer demand. Manufacturers then get A into G and provide 5.0 models instead of sticking with the existing platform to max profit.
