"android OS" on my SGS2 drinks data at a rate of 1kb a second!

Does anyone have experience on Go Launcher and JKay Deluxe?

These are my top two suspects

I am using Onavo but it can't be more specific and Android OS and can't be blocked ...

I kinda like both!

(2.3.6 Fluxmod Custom ROM)

Absolutely.

Scroll through your "data usage" screen, there should be a good breakdown in there of what apps are the thirsty ones. You should be able to select the culprits from that screen and restrict their data usage on an individual basis, or you can restrict everything in one go.

Do you have Swype Beta by any chance? I found this app spazzed out one night and used up just over 500MB!

was wondering if ICS is so powerful at pinpointing data usage could you install go launcher and see if it shows?

according to onava it's not an app that is using data it is "android OS + Others", and it cannot be any more specific

Why not update to ICS and see how you get on. Personally I can't think of a reason to stay on Gingerbread on an SII

In the past I found Go launcher to be terrible.

LauncherPro is still one of the best for Android 2.x or you can try Holo Launcher which is a ICS style one for 2.x.

You battery life issues are weird since on my SGS2 I was getting 4 hours screen on time with CM10 which had a terrible battery lifes due to a lack of sources.

As for your data issues it could be a case of something 'phoning home' like an account sync. Try another app like this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobidia.android.mdm for tracking data usage,

Custom and heavily ROMs can be just bad at doing things like this. If you're looking for a decent stock like experience then check out SensatioN. it is very good and looks really nice too. I used this one for a while and really liked it. I would recommend the DorimanX kernel instead of Siyah though for battery life.

With vanilla ICS before you've been installing apps?

I can get 36+ hours on a charge with ICS. You might want to take a look at what you are running.
