Hi
Just bought the N7 on Saturday and am loving it. I'm looking for a car charger and want to know what amperage I should get. There is one on TM, 5VDC, 1 amp. Is this enough? Any other places in NZ stock them? Thanks

1A may be barely enough. 2A chargers are available and the N7 comes with a 2A wall-charger.

If you get a car charger designed for pretty much any tablet device, odds are it'll be a 2A unit. I use a 2A charger designed for a Samsung Galaxy Tab to charge my Galaxy Note and it slowly charges even with GPS and data on, playing music over bluetooth and the screen on the whole time.

A 1A charger may not be enough juice to stop the device slowly discharging, the N7 is pretty power efficient though so you might be ok.

Read up on what is needed for a n7 charger, I've read comments where you 2.1a charger worked fine on a galaxy tab but wouldn't charge the n7 unless it was off

Just get a 150w DC / AC car power inverter from DSE...and plug the N7's usual charger into the AC power outlet.

I have a 300w inverter and plug a 4-socket power board into it and charge up several items at the same time. As long as the load is under 4amps it works great.

If the power goes out in the house, I start up the car and run an extension inside to drive some CFL lights, the mains phone and the Internet modem/router.

Way more versatile than a single-purpose car adapter.
