Does anyone else have full access to the play store without connecting via VPN?

I received the $25US credit when I got my nexus 7. I now only have $0.34 of this left.  By having a $US balance I was able to connect to the US with a vpn connection on my PC and download the daily free music track without the need to register a US credit card.

I have been doing this daily for about 4 months.  In the past couple of weeks I have noticed that when I go to the play store without the VPN i have full access to Music, movies etc.  This is also the case on my android devices.

If I log out of my google account and go back to the play store I only get the NZ apps only version.

By the looks of it as I was connecting to the store via the US for so long it has defaulted?

Does this happen to anyone else?

Why would you need to use VPN to use the playstore (sorry for being ignorant in advance)?
My phone has the playstore app and I can also simply just goto the playstore website and download away !

I dont think im restricted to just NZ apps... there aint many NZ apps !

NZ doesn't see the full site where you can purchase music, movies, TV shows and hardware devices

it appears google play market shows the apps according to your location, similar to Apple store.

This is what I get now.  Compare it to yours.  NZ is a bit ripped off with content.

You can setup Google Music IN NZ...just use the VPN when setting up per device. Then going forwards you dont need the VPN anymore. I've uploaded over 4000 sounds just like iTunes match but FREE :)

True enough and that's what I have done ever since Google Music was out in beta. But I am sure without the VPN you cannot purchase any music.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Sure but the point was you cannot purchase music (or videos) from the Play Store without a VPN and I suspect a US credit card.

My access has gone, bugger.

Both android and PC versions are going to the App store only.

If I go via VPN while logged into my google account I only get the app store. This means I can't get access to other content at all.

If I VPN without logging in i get the US store but can't purchase because I need to log in to do that.

All you have to do to get to US play store and buy music etc, is change your credit card info to a US address.

I use the address of my NZ Post yourshop account. I can log onto my PC, tablet, phone etc and it always defults to the US store and I can buy songs etc. No VPN etc required.

But just to to watch that anything I buy ends up costing more due to it being in US $.
