I saw this a week or so ago and thought it looked pretty good, given the trend toward no external storage slots on phones like Xperia Z and HTC One. So I put up my USD12 (which includes international postage) and will use it with my new S4 or HTC One - once I decide which one to buy. It will take cards up to 64GB.

I keep saying that not all but some Kickstarter projects are just rebranded/repackaged Chinese-made stuff.

For example you can get a OTG card reader for Android for US$ 5.60, free shipping, out of DX.com.

It is a nice design that couldn't be smaller, so tempted "just in case" but don't reallllllly need it.

Well that took the wind out of my sails. Didn't know these existed (except for OTG cables) before I saw the Kickstarter one. Live and learn.

However I agree with Scott - the Kickstarter one looks small and neat.

Sure it is. But my point is that a lot of Kickstarter projects aren't originals. And some are actually overpriced. If the DX site can sell those at $5.60 each, imagine buying in bulk? A Kickstarter project could be making 100% or more margins by going this way.

This is not the first project I see that have similar products already available at discount prices from Chinese manufacturers.

Got that from your initial post.
