I've been looking for something a bit cheaper for a while (or maybe WP8)  but at $799 on sale at the Warehouse I'm quite tempted by the HTC One (though my wallet will not thank me ;-)

It's the Telecom version, but this should work fine on Vodafone right?

Anybody have thoughts on whether this is a decent deal?  Anything else I should consider for around this amount (or preferably less) - I'm still battling away on my LG P500 so almost anything would be an upgrade :)

(EDIT: Hmm. where did all my text go? :) )

It says there is no time remaining, but its saying that for all their deals so must be a glitch.

You wont regret buying the HTC One, especially at $800. Wow

Yeah sorry about that, my text was definitely there when I click "Post" - gremlins must've stolen it on the way to server or something.

If you know someone in Australia, Harvey Normal are selling them for AU$686 (and have been for weeks now). (32GB)

That would be roughly $798 at the current exchange rate

Either way - we'd be happy to take you on board :) - the phone should work with team red but just note, the phones are designed and tested on our network and are not guaranteed to work 100% with other networks. Something you will notice with team red is the possibility for lower battery life since our phones come switched with Fast Dormancy turned off by default (since our network doesn't support it) but if you're using a phone without Fast Dormancy on team red or team giant logo you might notice decreased battery life.

You might be fine, but thought I'd just put this out there.

@MM: Thanks for the info! :) I actually would be tempted looking at some of your plans, but my account is through work so not much choice there.

(I lol'd at "team giant logo" :) )

No worries :) I can't hold it against you if your employer is on team red instead of team blue heh.

Can anyone comment on how easy it is to toggle the fast dormancy on one of these? (I see some instructions on the link from michaelmurfy above which looks relatively simple - would just like confirmation)
