Im looking at (finally) entering the smartphone world, but it will need to be at the cheaper end of the spectrum. The ace 3 seems to be a good little phone and its 4g which is a huge plus. I had a little play with it in a telecom shop and it seemed to be nice.
I really dont know squat about phones (I know how to work an ipad so im assuming i can work an iphone lel)
opinions? any alternatives? I dont really want to go windows phones because of how I want to use the phone (specific apps) and plans are not really an option for me at the moment due to cost (wife + baby boy = no moneyz)

This is going to be a place-holder until my wife and I have enough dollars to get a "flagship" phone each (or 2 degrees bring back half price plans for harvey norman staff so i can get the g2)

How much is it going to cost you.
Are you geetting a cheap deal or free phone as part of a contract
Some Telecom phones ARE slightly different versions and may not be the best option if using 2degress/Vodafone
Do you really Need/afford 4G, will a 3G phone be OK.

Ace3 may be overly expensive for what it is.
Have a look at the Ace2, S3 Mini, S3 Express . The S3 Mini or Express(4G) would be preferred if you can afford them
Small smartphones can be a pain to use, the on screen numbers & onscreen keyboard will be quite small & awefull to use.
Id expect a few bargains to pop up if you can wait till new years sales.

I had the Ace+, have upgraded to the S3 Express. Much bigger & brighter screen. Very nice ph, bigger than S3 mini yet still quite light.
PB Tech had them on a 1day sale for about $330ish.

If you're on Telecom and after a cheap, good enough phone the Y300 currently on offer at the Warehouse would be a good deal for you.

The Moto G is being called the best budget smart phone in the world. It will be available in 10 days, if you order from Amazon UK it'll be here before christmas. Cost around $300 from memory. Comparable enough specs to the high end phones, slightly smaller screen, CPU quad core and quite snappy. No 4G, no memory cards, but 3G is already fast enough for 99% of people, as is 16GB. I have something like 12GB of data on my S4, even though I have 16GB internally plus a 32GB memory card.
