I'm happy with the media player my Galaxy has, with the exception of the random icons of its own that it displays as album art for any MP3 I have that has no embedded album art.

I've just used Root Browser to kill off crappy Notifications and Ringtones, and I see that I can mess with the wallpaper/lock screen defaults, too. but I can't seem to find where these album art jpegs are hiding.

anyone know?

(I googled about this, but eeeeeeeevery link I found seemed only to concern adding your own correct album art, or deleting them, not with getting rid of Android's stock art (or, the same result: replacing the files in that directory with a small black jpeg so it looks like nothing is displaying).

cheers.

You could try using MediaMonkey (check google play). It probably won't do quite what you want, but it has some nice features like wireless synchronization with a media library on a computer. It can be a bit tricky to set up the sync, but there's help online if you look in the Android Beta Forum FAQs.

The default album art you are trying to delete is likely resources with the app apk file so no way to delete it without decompiling the app.

so it's like Winamp skins--all the art contained within a file, not individual jpegs lying around in a folder it accesses? bugger.
thanks for the info, maybe I'll just fork out for an app.
