Motorola G is a fantastic phone, a bit confusing if you're used to Samsung, to be honest.

For what are you buying the phone for? What's you're existing phone?

5" 1280x720 would be decidedly average to be honest, the motoG screen is superb for it's price point.

Have you seen the Kogan in real life?

Ah ok, I strongly suggest popping into a Vodafone or 2 degrees store and taking a look.

The extra screen real estate would be good, but for any geek the low dpi will annoy most people, especially when viewing e books or websites, but that is strongly my own opinion as well!

The ace 3 is absolute garbage - run a mile (we issue them at work)

The Moto G is fantastic.

Moto G is a good phone, but to me feels a bit cheap and ugly. My wife likes hers, but I'll probably upgrade her to a better phone when it dies. Nothing wrong with it, performs well, just a bit ugly.

That's 256ppi.  The monitor I use all day is 87ppi. Phones have too many pixels, takes up processing power for little gain.

Fully agree, like the G3 is just over kill. But (again just my personal thoughts) 1 million pixels spread 5" viewed at cellphone length would mean the pixels are very visible, especially for content which demands attention like ebooks or viewing websites when compared to the same pixel count over 4". For text messages, or movies the extra screen real estate may be enough to sway someone who really doesn't care about dpi res!

Wait for the 4G variant of the Moto G that's rumoured to be coming out locally. 4G is worth the upgrade, but don't settle for WVGA to get it. ;)

Or there's always this.

Last report was late July for ~$325, although other reports indicate it could be a bit more. Shame it's cat3 rather than cat4, but whatchagonnado at that price.

I look online  like these places http://www.expansys.co.nz/more/?sbadd=263406&utm_source=email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Product+Alerts and http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Moto-G-8GB-4G-LTE-UNLOCKED-Mobile-Phones.aspx but I'm not to sure if these websites are good or not
