As a Nexus 5 owner I always thought that was a good size and the Nexus 6 to big.

Just spotted one in HM today. The 32G model for $1199 IIRC.

It is a big phone to be sure but now having actually handled it out doesn't seem as big as I had thought it might be based on dimensions.

Probably won't upgrade but is not an impossibility now. The main issue is how to carry such a large phone when it probably won't fit in my shirt pocket.

I love 6" phablets, but think the N6 is a bit of a miss in terms of how it feels in your hand/thickness etc

Considering i paid sub $500NZD for 32gb Nexus 5 from aussie at launch, i still don't feel like the nexus 6 really has enough of a premium to justify the leap into the expensive category. Seeing it at $1199 retail here is even more laughable.

I might not be entirely correct on the price but it was over $1000.

Problem with getting a US version could be LTE frequencies?

US version will give you band 3 and 7, which will see you right in urban areas with good coverage.

International version adds on Band 28 (700mhz), which is the long range frequency being rolled out by vodafone and spark presently, primarily outside cities.

Its mihgt not seem cheap but is a lot of phone

If you compare the rest of the Motorola family and add a bit of markup for novelty value it stacks up consistently. The Moto X comes in at around Galaxy S5 money and is a scaled down N6 of sorts , the N6 comes in at around Galaxy Note 4 money so again seems ballpark

Moto G 8gb = $299
Moto X 16gb = $899
Nexus 6 32gb = $1199

Some would argue the Note 4 is a better phone but with the N6 you are guaranteed timely updates and no bloat which is worth a premium in my books

The note 4 has a pen which is nice. I've been using Windows enabled pen devices for years and really like the though on Android it might not be useful.

But I just don't like Touchwiz, so much so that I almost grateful my wife switched from a Galaxy S4 to an iPhone 6!

I got a Note 4 and the Pen is the big surprise for me. I use it all the time. Annotating screenshots, editing photos of receipts (crop, send), drawing network diagrams etc. I never imagined I would use it as much as I do.

If you can, get the Droid Turbo(or Moto Maxx) on ebay or amazon or taobao instead.

My wife broke the back glass of her Nexus 4(I think she's been trying to break her old phone for a long time) so I bought a blue ballistic nylon version of Droid Turbo for her. It is just longer than Nexus 4 and still fit well in one hand.

Nexus 6 maybe able to install the active display/moto voice like other moto phones but it is missing the required hardware of Moto Action which I feel it is really useful. By waving a hand across the phone to light up the screen when it is on desk is good for lazy people like me. And most important, when you watching the phone, the screen will not turn off(even the screen off time is set to xxx seconds), the screen will immediatly turn off when you put your phone away, so I can read a long text with out touching the screen to keep it awake, and I don't have to press the power button to turn the screen off when I finished reading.

Droid Turbo got a 3900mah battry is better than Nexus 6, and the price is cheaper :-)

But it is still on 4.4.4 not 5.0 yet.

I will get one myself in the middle or late Feb after the global version Moto Maxx released in Hong Kong

had a quick play with it at Harvey Normans, not a fan of AOSP/Vanilla but liked the Nexus 5 mainly due to price but the 6 just seems to be too expensive given its blandness (my opinion) be interesting to see how popular it ends up. Didn't seem as good as the Note 4 in hand but maybe I'm bias, I'm already on a custom lollipop so the software whilst quick didn't enthuse me much but then again I like bells and whistles even if I don't use them with N6 you don't get any but still expensive.

Look forward to feedback on it though as proof is in the pudding

unless a huge screen and better camera is worth $700 to you, i would go with the N5 which still has a nice screen, okay camera, and pretty much does everything the N6 does

My N5 has pretty poor battery life so I need to keep it charged all the time. I have wireless charging docks at work, in the car, in the kitchen and by my bed! Maybe all this charging has hammered the battery.

Ive currently got a OnePlus One and had had a compassion in a shop and the size is not too much different and if the camera reviews are good I am considering getting one.
I am currently Living in Canada so I will probably wait until I get to the UK later this year to get one so it has the correct LTE bands.

I have seen people using them on the way into work and they look pretty good.

Hopefully will have a 64GB version available.

The N5 always looked a really good phone but the inability to change batteries is a deal breaker for me as I'm so used to just popping in another battery after a couple of days its just second nature. OTT but if the Galaxy S6 doesn't have a changable battery I'll definately be looking for another phone but restricted to the likes of the note 4.

The Nexus 6 just didn't spin my wheels like the N5 did, mainly due to the price I guess, maybe my expectations are OTT but its a premium price.

I'm watching the prices of the N5 but still high, maybe an indication of how good a phone it is
