Hello
I am in the UK for a few weeks and have popped a UK voda sim in my phone.
Everything works fine however when I go to the play store to download some UK apps it appears to go to the NZ play store still (I use the play store icon on my phone)
Also the search engine on chrome defaults to .co.nz
which I want to default to .co.uk and of course when I come back to NZ to change it all back

Thanks in advance for your help

Have you changed your Address in Google Wallet and changed the Payment Method to both a UK Address?

Make sure Google Play store is not open on your Android device.
(maybe reboot before doing this...)

Go into Settings/Application manager
Not sure exactly where this would be on your Android device - On a Note II its under settings/More/Application manager

Scroll down to the  'Google Play Store' app and open it.

Click the 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Data' buttons.

Now open the play store - It should give you the first time dialog.
Should now see whatever playstore your internet/data connection points to.

Still does not work
these are the steps I have taken

Changed my google account details to reflect a uk address and credit card option.
made a purchase from the app store Using my uk details.
deleted the paid app and got a refund.
Cleared data and cache from play store as per last suggestion

Still no luck 😊

Dont know about the purchasing bit - have never bought anything via the playstore - but have changed the region many times without any problems.
Using this method you can use Hold unblocker on your android deviec and fool the play store into thinking you are in the UK (for example) and access and download BBC iplayer etc - then you can switch back to NZ.

When you say it doesnt work - where physically are you right now?

When you open the play store for the first time did you get the terms and conditions screen?
If you didnt then you have not cleared the cache/data properly - you have to clear the cache/data on 'GOOGLE PLAY STORE'

So if you search for something like "BBC iplayer" - does that come up? Dont confuse this with the BBC Media player - that seems to come up from anywhere....

In fact try '4od' in the play store search - if it comes up you are looking at the UK playstore - which should be expected as that is where you are I guess.

Sign up for a new UK Google account or just find the APK files you want and sideload them. Changing your region is an enormous pain in the rear and not worth it for a few weeks.

Yes you are right I am not going to bother.
I have done some research on it and it is quite involved and you lose all your data 😊
