Is there any way of disabling Play Store from auto-updating apps, apart from disabling Play Store itself? I normally leave Play Store disabled because every time I enable it, it automatically updates all apps which I choose not to update.

I've diabled Auto downloads for system updates and auto-aupdate apps in the Software section, but Play Store totally ignores them. I prefer to choose which apps to update: it's darned annoying having it done automatically when I have not enabled the auto-update process!!

In the play store go to Settings (via the hamburger on the top left of the screen)
Auto updates is the top setting in the list. Change it to 'Do not auto update'.
That is what i have done. Other options are auto update or auto update only on WiFi.

In some older versions of the play store you had to disable updates app by app. From memory it was by using the menu button once each app was displayed within the play store.

The play store still allows blanket auto updates, and per app auto updates. Which are you having a problem with?
