Looks like a small step up, all the modern features but not really a game changer. Just a standard incremental change.

Also if the rumor is correct on the 4k display. I wonder if they will do what Sony did on the Z5 Premium and lower the res to 1080p for everything apart for video playback and photos?

4k will be great for VR. Apart from that its pretty useless on a screen that small

That "article" was a piece of shyte, really; a combination of PR drivel and general drivel, and just so poorly written and repetitive. Especially ironic given the lack of availability of the G5 and G4 in NZ.

 

What would a 4k screen do to battery life, even if just for photos/videos? The screen on my G3 is more than good enough in terms of resolution, though I guess the point re VR (if you care about this) could be meaningful.

 

That said, I hope it's a good phone - I'd like to stick to the G series when I replace this, and am not comfortable with risking it with either of the G4 or G5.
