Something strange in one of the Android phones in our household: Google Play is no longer showing updates available - only for some apps, not all of them.

I know because Tile stopped working and when I compared versions with my own smartphone it was way behind. Google Play didn't show an update. I had to uninstall and install it again. The same thing happened today with Life360 - it showed a message saying the version was old - and sure enough a lot older than the one on my own phone and Google Play didn't show an update available. Again, uninstall and install it solved the problem.

Android 7.1 on this device.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get Google Play going again as it should?

I had it drop one of my devices totally recently. Said that I had no apps installed/registered to update. Or if there were any updates showing would crash on clicking and then an obscure not available type error.

Had to do a cache wipe, service restore (back to factory original of play services and store) and reset the likes of the background system downloader service data etc before it would allow it to hit the store and re-register back to the dashboard and actually update the cataloge to what was on device etc. PITA

Thanks... Yes, will do a cache and data wipe for the store to see it helps. Will keep posted.

Maybe look to clear the cache from Google Play Services as well.
