It has been rolling out for users over the last few weeks and I noticed just now that an option had appeared in the Android Auto app settings to choose to use the "new android auto now"

I will be getting in the car in half hour and am looking forward to trying it out!

Apple Car Play had become an essential app/service for me over the years and it was one of the reasons I was nervous about going back to Android earlier this year. The experience to date has been pretty decent, but it looks like this new update is much more similar to Apple Car Play in its layout and approach, so I am all for it.

Cheers for the heads up. I've just turned on the "Try the new Android Auto" option. Looking forward to the trip home from work at 4pm now.

I turned it on about a week ago. Great update. The interface is much better.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

The interface is better, but it still turns on 'Do Not Disturb' on my S10 by default. I do not want this.

That's weird, doesn't do it for my S10+

Yeah got it on my Pixel 2 XL, Samsung A50 and my partners Samsung A30, much better than the old interface.

Mine neither!

Isn't it a setting in the app?

Yeah it is, but it needs to have rolled out to your mobile it happens in the background, once it does you open the settings in Android Auto and tap the option to try the new interface.

I think they are referring to the do not disturb bit. Will investigate further, but I couldn't find anything when I first looked.

I just checked and I couldn't find it either!

You don't have a Bixby routine switched on that is doing it?

Just tried it out.  It's so good.  Much better use of screen real estate and feels snappy to navigate.

Isn't it! Weird they didn't go out of their way to publicise it more...
