Hi

I got my wife a G8 Plus about a month and half ago, she has mentioned over the last few days that she has been getting random restarts on it.

I found a few forums discussing the same problem

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G8-Plus/Random-Shudown-on-Moto-G8-Plus/td-p/4585357

https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/e970w1/moto_g8_plus_random_restarts/

Before I go back to PB Tech about it, has anyone else had the issue with their one?

Thanks

A firmware update that was released for it in March resolved the issue.

We have three of them, one from PBTech for me, two from the UK from before they were sold in NZ for my wife and Mum. I haven't had any problems or reports of problems.

I got this one from PB Tech, starting doing it soon after we got it, continued until the new firmware patch in March.  Was a common issue, lots of reports on the Motorola support site about it, and was acknowledged by Motorola.  The reports were it was happening when the device was idle, my wife's one used to do it mainly at night.  But hasn't happened since the software update.

Guess we were lucky. I notice that WiFi drops fairly regularly, but I assumed that was the new router.

She mentions the same thing, she notices it the most when playing a PlayLink game with the PS4

I have two of these phones on Skinny - not recommended as they are incompatible apparently - I wrote about it here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=265552&page_no=2#2527852

Check the IMEI number on their website and you may find it's not compatible.... it means you don't get the SMS etc that you should!  So you might not know....
