Is anyone using a Galaxy A52 5G that can give me some ideas on getting Chat Features in Google Messages working? I am on Skinny and my number was ported from Vodafone a few years back. When I try to enable Chat Features, I put in the country code and my phone number (021 xxx-xxx) and hit the Verify button but after that nothing happens.

Not much to get RCS working it should be very straight forward, I know one user it did take a few days to activate

I'm on Vodafone with an Oppo A5 2020 and turned on RCS in Google Messages a week ago and used it for a few days with no problems. Last night noticed it had turned itself off so I turned it back on. This morning I noticed it was turned off again. I did some Googling and found someone with a different model Oppo phone who said he had the same problem and got it working by setting the power saving options so the Google Messages app was allowed to run in the background. I've now done that and we'll see how it goes.

I already have it set to allow background usage.

I've just installed Google Messages to test. Activating Chat functions took only a few seconds to verify (automatically) after entering my mobile number. 2Degrees prepay.

The chat features worked with the chat features in Samsung Messages. Have you tried activating Chat features in Samsung Messages to see if you can use that with people you're messaging?

Yes I tried Samsung Messages. When it comes up with Register for Chat Services and I click on Start, it says Registration Failed.

So frustrating.

Weird. Just removed Google Messages and reactivated Chat in Samsung Messages without issue. S10+

The only thing I can think of doing is a factory reset :-(

Did a factory reset and still the same. App version is "8.1.051 Rowan_RC05.phone_samsung_dynamic",    is this specific to Samsung devices?

This is very confusing, I have been told here that RCS has nothing to do with the carrier but Google say this...

"RCS will need to be available in your region and your carrier should support it,"

and when I asked Skinny they said they don't support it so have I been wasting my time trying to get this working?

Nothing to do with Skinny the reason why the Skinny staff member is saying they don't support it is most likely they don't understand what it is or how it works!

I wonder if you have an old version... S21 here 8.3.026 (Teak_RC01.phone_samsung_dynamic).  Have you had a look in the galaxy app store for any updates?

Skinny don't support the service cause if you have issues with the service you need to contact Google support!
