Hello. Ive currently got a Galaxy S20. But i think it'll die in the next month or so. (its taking hours longer to re-charge & when i wake up, its still not 100% )

Im wondering what is a similar mobile to the S20 that Vodafone sells ? I cant see it on their website.

S21?  But how old is the S20?  As a flagship phone I think you have a CGA case if it is not working properly - they were only released in NZ in Mar 2020

djtOtago:

Maybe the S20 FE

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. Vodafone NZ.

Thanks - I'll consider it. THOUGH - looking on the Samsung Site (specs).  the RAM size has gone DOWN 2GB and the available memory has gone down 2GB.

I would expect things to go UP - not down when upgrading versions.

Further - Waht does the external memory look like?

Is it something i plug in, and save/.retrieve, but its not a permanent fixture ?  Or is it something i can add & its a permanent fix, that i can just put the phone in my pocket like normal & have the extra space ?

The S20FE was never designed as an upgrade to the earlier models in that range; rather, it was a more affordable option, offering many of the advantages of a flagship but cutting some corners to keep the price down.

This talks about the rationale and differences: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/samsung-galaxy-s20-fe-vs-galaxy-s20-whats-different

Personally, I’m really drawn to this idea as my S9+ is more phone than I really need, but the A series aren’t quite up there either; I’ll certainly look to the S20FE equivalent when the time comes to replace my current phone.

@gordonisnz Where did you purchase the S20 from? It should have a 2 year warranty

There is an Android feature that does slow charging overnight to preserve battery health, might be that. See if that feature exists / is enabled. After that I'd do a hard reset before I bought a new one, but it should be under warranty anyway.

Are you talking about adding additional storage capacity? If so that's done by installing a micro SD card like in the image below. Many (Android) phones provide for this, though in dual-SIM phones often the second SIM slot is shared with the SD card (so can take either a SIM or SD card).
