I am using a Huawei 2019 phone and I want to save an apk file before I format the phone because the particular app is no longer available on the google play store. Can anyone recommend a reliable apk extractor app. there are a few different ones on the playstore but most don't have any reviews. thanks

I think you can use the adb command line to do that if you were willing to use the Android Command line tooling - available for Windows/Linux/MacOS

I was able to run the SDK platforms tools and have it list all packages but the app is not in the list.

Its only a little Mute me app, which I have on the cell phone's desktop

Problem solved.

It was the mute me app that was interferring with my text sounds. I deleted the app from the phone's desktop and that fixed the problem and saved me from having to do a format.
