I've tried aHome Lite (free), Open Home Full (paid) and most recently bought GDE Home (paid - about NZ$4.50).

I haven't tried Panda Home or any of the other ones. Anyone tried those?

I'm really liking GDE Home. Especially the endless scroll feature, from screen to screen, with a 'Cube' transition. GDE also has "Stretch" and "Fade", but Cube is my fave by far.

GDE is nice and fast and very stable. No crashes here in several days. I've written a more detailed review here. There's a video there, too.

Here's a screenshot (Google Chrome Theme for GDE - free from the Market) of the Cube transition in action on my Vodafone NZ HTC Magic running stock Android 1.6.
