Hi All

I recently bought an HTC Desire from Clove and am happy with the purchase. Awesome Phone. Texts and calls work however I cannot get the internet to work no matter what I try!!

I called Vodafone who have told me to go to my supplier, I went into the store and it just so happened the guy had a HTC magic. He let me copy his settings over but still I can't get it to work!!!

One thing worth noting, I have the little sim with the cog in the corner as talked about in the tips/tricks thread:
http://yfrog.com/g0dsc01556tj

I have tried copying these settings first:
http://forum.vodafone.co.nz/topic/4252-apn-settings-for-android-phones

These are the settings that I copied from the HTC magic:
Name - Vodafone NZ
APN - www.vodafone.net.nz
Proxy - <not set>
Port - <not set>
Username - <not set>
Password - <not set>
Server - <not set>
MMSC - null
MMS Proxy - <not set>
MMS Port - <not set>
MMS Protocol - WAP 2.0
MMC - 530
MNC - 01
Authentication Type - None
APN type - default,supl

Both versions above did not work. Can anyone verify they have the exact same settings and it does work? Or point out where I have gone wrong?
I feel like a bit of a noob as these are basic settings... but nothing is working for me.
The error I receive is - 'Connection failed due to incorrect APN setting'
Note - WIFI works fine

First of all make sure SIM works in another device for internet using the www.vodafone.net.nz APN the issue might not be related to the device

WOW why didn't I try that earlier. Pulled out my friends sim card and it worked flawlessly. I asked vodafone to check this twice in the last 24 hours... NOT IMPRESSED! They just don't want to hear about it when you have an import!

Thanks for your advice!
