Looks like the CyanogenMod 6.0 "DS" (Dream / Sapphire = HTC G1 and HTC Magic 32b) is now out. This is Android v2.2 built from source by Steve Kondick (Cyanogen) and 'his' team.

The link is here

Pitty I broke my magic the other day :(

I was looking forward to this but couldn't resist trying to build it from AOSP myself, ended up stuffing my bootloader.. Now I can't get past the splash and can't boot into recovery, fastboot or hboot !

Hmm, I tried one of the nightlys on Saturday for the Desire and got stuck in a bootloop.  Managed to get a recovery image on there and all working on the original HTC Sense ROM but can't get back into recovery mode or root it at all.

Really like trying different ROM's, now I'm stuck.  Mind you, it emphasized that the HTC ROM is pretty darn good!

From what I understand, if you can turn it on, there is hope.

There is a thread at XDA developers in the Dream section...Maybe in the Sapphire section, too.....on recovering bricked phones. There are a couple of devs who have access to HTC tools....and they may be able to help if you want to follow it up.

You can't boot to recovery?

Maybe you can boot a recovery via Fastboot?

There are even better tricks than that.....but you would have to chase them down.

Bascially, if the phone will power on at all there is a chance you can recover it....It's just a matter of working out at what point you can get yourself into the loop.

Fastboot is a completely different boot mode.....You cant do that, either? (I know little about the Desire).

Also....I have been able to get into a phone via adb even as it bootloops. From adb you can do many interesting and useful things.

I'll go have a look, thanks for the heads up :)

I've already (actually) bricker my magic once, bad HBOOT flash broke my NAND and she wouldn't even power on.. got the whole PCB replaced because of it.

At least as you say this time I can still power her on :D
