Hopefully when it is sorted, it will be straightforward for other people to get their's fixed.
Sounds like they are experimenting on it. Undecided
Thanks for being a guineapig.

I think they bought HTC Desire phones.....which then updated OTA....and the OTA update resulted in a soft brick. Maybe becuuse their phones were AMOLED and the update assumed SLCD....or vice-versa (my theory).

Annoying and a great reason to return the phone for replacement or repair. In due course. Whenever....

Otherwise, If you know how to get out of it, it's all over in an hour.

They don't know how to get out of it....and the vendor is proving the quality of support before their very eyes.....which would/SHOULD make any *sane* person realise the *best* support is roll-your-own.....and direct their efforts IMMEDIATELY to learning how to fix this stuff themselves.

Hardware faults = return to vendor, of course.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy S today....so I'll be working out how you DIY on that phone.

It would be good if people posting new discussions used a bit more time to clearly explain what's they are talking about.

If the OP doesn't clarify what's this about then I will lock the thread.

Apologies to admin and users for this. I intended to post this on Kiwi1971's post regarding the recent purchases or HTC Desire mobiles from eKing, which if updated are causing a a variety of problems from boot loop, to total OS fail.

Currently updating to Android 2.2 Froyo has caused several users phones to fail from eKing and I am trying to resolve the problem through the customer service. If anything it will be an interesting experiment to see how these parallel importers handle these problems.

Linuxluvers post pretty much sums up this topic.

Admin, u can close the thread. I will continue to post on Kiwi1971's

Cheers. Sorry for the stuffup.
