Lately, even though my phone is set by default to USB connection type Charge-only; when I connect the USB cable it cuts access to anything on the SD card and changes the icons for anything installed on the SD card to the default Android image until I confirm that it should be on Charge-Only from the task bar notification.
It already says Charge Only in the task bar but I need to open the notification and re-select Charge Only then it checks the SD card and I have to wait a few seconds before SD content is accessible.

This means that if I am listening to something on Winamp it will stop and Winamp will be inaccessible
Has anyone had and overcome this annoyance?  It never used to do this, I am not sure what changed or what app might be causing this.

Edit: What seems to be happening is that it is crashing the homescreen as I notice that it is restarting after I connect the USB cable and Winamp stops only when this happens.

mine does the same but without the crashing, and only lately. What ROM are you using?

There is an option within winamp itself to automount the card when you connect USB. Try turning that off.

Ah ha! Thanks for the tip!

Silly of winamp makers to put THAT in there....

The most frustrating 'feature' of winamp tbh.

+1 for that. I hadn't seen that option, I would have unchecked it for sure.

Thanks.

Yeah tripped me up too.

I reckon they're trying to go for an iTunes/iPod auto sync model with Winamp/Android - an iPod is essentially useless while plugged into iTunes too.
