Hi there. I've been using ChompSMS for since about 3 days after I got my Samsung Galaxy 3 (i5800) because Samsung themed the android SMS app, and now its sluggish and looks gross. is there a 3rd party app that I can use that has a theme similar to the stock sms app? I like the look of it more, no bubbles or anything, just modern and simple.

Handcent has a number of themes and settings. Have you had a look to see if you can tweak that to look and work the way you want?

I actually really like GO SMS. I used to use Handcent, but now GO is my SMS app of choice =D

I second that.
I like that I can customise actions for individuals.  I have my girlfriend's texts make an audible beep, rapid vibrate, turn on screen and unlock phone whereas other people I don't have anything but a beep or just a single vibrate.  They also have their own coloured message notification so I can tell who has texted before opening it. For privacy U have it simply say "New Message" in the notification bar rather than the actual message.
For extra privacy you can set certain people's texts have no notifications except for a nondescript black square in the notification bar.

Totally customisable message screens, backgrounds, fonts colours etc. I used to use chomp but found it flaky, Go SMS is much better.

Found an edited version of handcent that was the free version but with more themes, one that looks exactly like the default app. Much faster than the default one I have now, covered in samsungs customisations and what not. Thanks for your help guys.
