foamfollower: ANZ?

I was thinking more along the lines of an official app. I'm looking to change banks and it would definitely influence my decision.

Hopefully they are working on apps with the rate of android growth.

Not sure if it does any more than a bookmark in your browser would.

The screen shots make it look like it's got some of the same functionality as the web site.  What a bugger the app isn't available for 2degrees customers.  Wonder why.

It's a bit hard to tell from the app website, but it is probably quite likely that the app is for ANZ in Oz only.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I have ANZ accounts on both sides of the Tasman, and do what I have to quite adequately with two bookmarks in Opera, so I have not been tempted by this app - I suspect it would just take up RAM without good reason. However I would suspect it will work on both sides of the ditch as there the same technology is used; just a slight change of URL.

I don't know if I'd trust my banking details with an app that wasn't made/released by my bank...

lokhor: Kiwibank has a great mobile site

Its broken on android atm for me. If i change my useragent to iPhone it operates fine however.

Example, this is it with user agent android: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.3; en-gb; HTC Desire Build/GRI40) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1
And it errors:

And it's not just dolphin, default browser is the same

Yet when i change useragent to iPad, it throws me the default mobile site, this time working fine.

I downloaded the HTML code for both this and the erroring one - its identical, obviously one of the javascript/serverside files is messing up.

And the iPhone user agent of course gets its own special version, a little bit more styled.

Comparing the accounts pages on mobile:

And the iphone one, larger font and a few more buttons next to links:

You can pay people who are already in your saved payee list and enter bank details of a new payee, I don't think you can save them. You can use the full site to do this from an Android web browser though.

@eXDee what phone are you using? I have no problems with the site on my SGS

After Tweeting 2degrees asking if they knew why I wouldn't be able to access the app on the Android Market, ANZ tweeted me back letting me know they had a Mobile Banking site.  I didn't know.  Not quite as cool as having an app but it'll do the trick.  And I was quite impressed they tweeted me.  I thought banks were still a bit behind on social networking.
