Hello all!!

I have recently tried to flash my Galaxy and me being the most useless person with technology must have done something wrong and now cannot work the phone.

Im pretty sure the message (now cant remember what it said) means it has ROM or something (please excuse my limited knowldege)

Anyway because I played around with it, its not under warranty hence they have to charge me.

However they have asked for $400 to fix the phone. Now I bought my phone for $900..??

I do accept my fault for breaking the phone in the first place, however I think $400 is a bit too much..

Now to my main question, is there a way for me to fix this myself?? or is there a cheaper place where I can fix this because this has gone way too far..

Living without my Android is like hell..

Can someone please help me!!!!

argh!!

I will try to get a better description of the fault if I can.

Samsung Galaxy S?

I could possibly fix it if that's the case...

does your home and contents insurance cover 'accidental damage'? of course if your excess is quite high then its not going to be worth claiming via insurance....

did you attept to flash it via supported methods, or were you 'hacking' it via unsupported methods? if you attempted to update via 'supported' methods then samsung should really fix it for you..

If you still have 3 button download mode then there is a 99% chance it is easily fixable. Were did you purchase your Galaxy i9000 from?

If you can get it in to download mode, you can use ODIN again to flash a Samsung ROM from samfirmware.com. Is anyone local to yochankr to help him out?

Don't pay $400. This sounds like it can be sorted.

Nice work, that's great to hear that it's been fixed. That's the beautiful thing about the SGS, you can usually breathe life back in to it. I'm speaking from experience. I brought mine back from the dead on a couple of occasions.
