Hey guys,
Just a quick question,
I have a HTC Desire and have the default weather widget on my home screen but suddenly it has stopped updating and showing any weather info/animations.
On the widget, it states - No Weather Data Available however it still states my current location.

When i try to update it eventually it says,

Connection Error
Sorry, but the connection dropped while your weather information was downloading.
Try Downloading it again?

When i click Yes, it keeps doing the same.

I've done a factory reset but didnt resolve it.
Also removed the Widget from the home screen & reapplied it

Pretty minor i know, but it was quite a cool little feature.
Any info or how to resolve would be appreciated

Try using fancy widgets home screen widget.
Does the same thing, plus you can change the weather info supplier to weather bug which is a lot more accurate than google. Also you can set it to load any weather website of your choice. Can also show some extra info like battery %, day of the year etc.

I have the HTC Desire HD and have the exact same problem, although I still have animations.

Started doing this maybe a week ago.

+1 for my DHD.
It's obviously a problem with HTC and/or their weather supplier (accuweather I think). The accuweather site is still accessible directly via browser, so isn't down completely. Glad I didn't do a factory reset to try and get it back!

The weather widget broke with a Froyo update as well but that was more to do with being unable to determine 'current location'.

Yea i mate at work has the same issue as of yesterday or day before... must be HTC them selves i guess

Mine started this about a week ago as well so at least im not the only one i guess.
Glad i didnt lose any data doing the factory reset, gotta love Google syncing

Just an update. My DHD's weather widget has started working again, but only on 3G data. When I use wifi it comes up with a server connection fail every time.
On 3G the phone finds the nearest cell-site and, deciding that is its location, correctly downloads not only the weather for that location, but all the locations programmed.
On wifi, the phone correctly identifies that it is on my home network but refuses to download any weather.
I believe the problem is in the way the phone's location talks to the weather app. Same problem as FroYo but manifesting itself slightly differently.
