I've tried various weather apps (WeatherBug, The Weather Channel, News and Weather), but they all only seem to update when I have a wifi connection. When I'm out of wifi coverage the apps give me errors about no server connection etc.

Does anyone know why this might be happening, and how to fix it?

You can probably tell I'm new to using android devices (Symbian S60, anyone?). After a while of playing around, I found that my 3G data connection was turned off. I found quite a few people online with my problem, but no solution, so hopefully I'm not the only one to have missed that setting.
