There appears to be 3 main alternative home screen Launchers (to the stock one) and I would be interested what the people here felt was the best.  I have a SG1 running the latest stock firmware from Telecom.  I like things pretty simple and clean, not into clutter.

thanks

ADW for me, but Launcher Pro is also good.

I prefer ADW eX. I have tried launcher pro but it just wasn't right for me.

What are the three you think are the main ones?
I'm running zeam. I like it because it is light and fast, but I like ADW as well. Launcherpro is a bit annoying because too many actions end with a window telling you to get the full version. Launcher 7 is interesting and very nice to use but not viable because I use widgets too much.

There are a lot more than 3 launcher replacements!

LauncherPro is the fastest one I've used so far. Bought the full version as well, which gets rid of the nags.

ADW Launcher EX can be good, but its can also be flakey. It loses icons off the dock and you have to crash and restart it. You're less likley to see this behavious if you shut your phone down every day and don't leave it running without a re-boot for days or weeks.

These errors are relatively benign compared to some of the weirdness I've seen with Launcher Pro....which can crap out fairly badly or get in the way of other things. Depends on the update.....but I went to ADW Launcher EX because Launcher Pro was giving me heartburn too often. It's been a few months now. Maybe its been fixed.

If you use either of these they are both great, but come with "issues" you'll strike from time to time.

Right now I'm running sotck Sense 3.0 on my HTC Sensation. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. FAR better than the TouchWiz garbage Samsung put on their phones.

If you have TouchWiz, you'll want to get to ADW or LP asap....even with the issues. TouchWiz is terrible.

I just gave launcher pro another go... I bought the full version.. It's alright, but I'm back to ADW mainly for the show/hide notification gesture. I need that.

Linuxluver, I cant say I've had any issues with ADW. I do get the rare FC but I'd say thats more do do with tunning a beta ROM as it was rock solid on my last ROM.

bought few apps on market and only two apps i think is worth the money
launcherpro and poweramp

my xt720 is only 256mb ram and launcherpro's keep in memory feature does help to load homescreen faster (other launcher have to reload every widget when i press "home" button), not sure about adw only tried it few times last year in older roms

if your phone has more 512mb ram u should be able to run other launchers smoothly

try both of them in demo and see which one you prefer and runs better on your phone

anyone tired launcher7?
good if you want windows look. The 1x1 tiles worked but the 1x2 tiles weren't great. Bought the app too? Removed adds. Tried it on HTC Wildfire.
