I see in the latest Warehouse mailer telecom have the Huawei X1 for $169.  Seems like this is a refresh of the Ideos U8150 but at a cheaper price.  I know it's slow and everything, but it's tempting (better than my sony erricsson k750 anyway?)

vodafone 858 is in the same price range at warehouse as well..

im tempted to get one as they are cheap. both of these handsets are much better than those F8 selling for 150-200 at trademe.

which is better, vodafone 858 or huawei x1? sorry to hijack your thread mate..

They are now capacitive screens too, replacing the earlier vodafone 845 (?) I think it was which had a resistive screen.

the voda 858 was in the inner pages while the x1 was frontpage..

they are both responsive, ive had a quick play of both of them at the telecoma and vodafone store.  if it was only a larger screen, i wouldnt hesitate to get one as this are really cheap entry level android.  hopefully someone can shed a light on which of this two is better.. or are there better alternatives within the 170-200 price range?

Apparently:

Huawei X1 is the newer model U8180, Vodafone 858 is the model down U8160
