Anyone got a solution to this issue. I've just picked up an Huawei u8180 X1 to have a play with as I didn't have a Telecom compatible phone in the house. Quite impressed but I can't get all of the applications to load because Android Market keeps giving me an error.

On checking with a standard web browser it appears that some of the apps are tagged as "This item is not compatible with your device" for the X1.

Any ideas on a work around?

Generally known online as OpenMedia, now working for Red Hat APAC as a Technology Evangelist and Portfolio Architect. Still playing with MythTV and digital media on the side.

Most of that will be to do with QVGA graphics. You could probably google the .APK files, but there would be no guarantee of that working either.

If you use an app like Appmonster and it backs up the apps you install, you can copy the APK files to the other phone and "side load".

Some apps won't be backed up as they are protected. If you have rooted your phone you can often get access to these as well.

Some apps require an ARM7 processor and simply won't run on a phone with an ARM6 processor. The ARM6 just doesn't support the instructions required.

Thanks for the tips. Interestingly one of the apps I want works it just that the installer for the key to unlock the 30 day timout doesn't.

I might take a look at AppMonster as I'm planning on switching between phones a bit

Root the phone, then try using market enabler this may solve your problem, you can also use lcd density changer to run high resolution apps on a low resolution device.
