Just switched to 2 degrees and am using a Samsung Galaxy S2 (new phone too). On the weekend I was at Waikawa beach and every 10 -15 minutes I would receive a text message saying a location like "Otaki, Peka Peka, or Levin" I am making the assumption that i was in a fringe coverage area and my phone was switching between the strongest signal.  No problem with that but how can i turn off those messages - they are really annoying ?

Thanks

Sounds like you've got the cell ID broadcast channel on and the phone doesn't know how to deal with it. You'd be better off posting this in the Android forum.
