Well it's out in the UK now, so the reviews have begun.

Here's a good one;

http://www.theverge.com/2011/11/17/2568348/galaxy-nexus-review

Engadget/Gizmodo have the usual "it's not as good as iOS" reviews too.

Just the fact that it has a RGB notification LED is almost enough reason for me to upgrade to this thing, but the lack of a MicroSD slot means I'd be wanting to wait for the 32GB version to surface. I probably don't need >16GB, but it'd be good to have the option.

I wonder how long it'll take them to turn up here, or do I just get one from HandTec...

I'd be doubtful we'll see it from carriers here before christmas but you never know..

If I were to get one I would probably get it from Clove or Handtec, or one of the local importers depending on price

I was also keen given the slightly larger display (sausage fingers!) but given this comparison, it looks like that'd be just about the only real benefit:

Maybe I'll just wait for the SGS3 or the Galaxy Note II.

I'll be getting a Nexus whenever Clove get their hands on them (23rd by the looks). Will obviously be doing lots of stuff with it, comparisons obligatory :)

To be honest if you can handle the size the Note will be a much better handset than the Nexus when it gets ICS.

SGSIII should be amazing.

Agreed on the fact it isnt the WOAH! device some were expecting. Not suprising on the rumours leading up to launch, what were some of the rumoured specs? Quad core?

The SGN almost seems to be more about the software than the hardware almost, it is 6 months younger than the SGS2 and yet they are very equal to each other. Each device has their own given pros and cons.

Will be interesting to see what Samsung and HTC have waiting for us early next year

Note is similar, indeed. The 1280x800 resolution screen is a massive step up though, and that alone puts it way out in front of the SGSII for me. But as you say, pros and cons to each, I still think the SGSII is the handset of the year and totally respect that as a more mainstream option than the Note.

I think i am personally more likely to go from SGS2 to note purely for screen size and resolution than anything else, the SGN has no real wow factor for me other than ICS which i will have on the S2 before very long anyway given the way the mad keen XDA dev's are currently attacking ICS for the SGS2

I really want to get one. So far I can only find it on clove, expansys (pre-order only) and mobicity.

Should I wait for it to release in NZ (unlikely this year, I guess?)? Or just get one from Clove? (I don't trust expansys and mobicity too much)

Mobicity were fine for me when I ordered a Note from them, but Clove is beyond reproach as far as I'm concerned (and if you go back you'll see I had this opinion before I started writing for them), so if you want the best peace of mind I'd back Clove.

Got mine last night - still playing around with bits and pieces...
