I have two Android devices (Galaxy S2 and Xperia ray) each with a black 32GB MicroSD card. My library on the laptop is 20GB so I would simply like to sync the entire library to both devices. The WMP help states that if I have a 4GB or larger card, and my library will fit, it will automatically sync the entire library, this is not happening on either device (it requests that I select the content to sync), does anyone know how to configure WMP to sync the entire library automatically?

Note : OS is Win 7 (32bit) Pro with WMP 12.

As an alternative you could use FodlerSynch lite to synch the various media folders.

Thanks, if necessary I'll use another tool. What I'm trying to do use the devices and laptop OOTB, installing the minimum addtional software / apps on each.

I planned to use the Windows Media Player as I believe it used the windows Libraries as the base storage, which should mean with minimal configuration I could get Android and WP7 (via Zune) to all have the same content.

advantage of foldersynch is that it would do it over wifi, not sure if that is supported with the other methods, because it uses windows file sharing, there is no software to install on the PC.

I have a special directory on my pc where any file i place in that directory get transfered onto the android tablet then deleted off the pc automatically.  I have 2 other directorys that send music to the android music folder and video to the android video folder.  This is because my entire music library would be way to big to fit on an mp3 player.

Tahnks, but one device does not see the laptop on WiFi, the other only sees it when providing WiFi hopspot access, at this stage I'm focussing on why WMP is not functioning as documented. If this simply cannot be done, I may start a new thread seeking synch recommendations.

Not sure if WMP can sync to android. I know DoubleTwist will work and should import the WMP playlists. I use it with itunes myself. The free client for android syncs via USB, the paid one via wifi. I got the paid one. Pretty quick.

You probably have hidden SSID on your router, unhide SSID, get your phone / tablet to connect so that it remembers the SSID then rehide the SSID.

The mobile Wifi access methodolgy is working as designed. These devices do not access my home WiFi. One is the work phone and it accesses the work WiFi (which the laptop is not part of), the other uses VF and provides internet access to the Laptop.

But these are side events, it's not an issue with WiFi, its an issue with Sync that I'm facing. I suspect there is an underlying issue with the WMP / Windows libraries, so I'm going to clear the laptop back to factory tonight and try again after a rebuild.

Rebuilt the machine and built the the media library and both the Xperia ray and Galaxy S2 synchronising successfully (so far). My guess is that when I attempted to remove the Vaio bloatware I may have removed the MS Sync libraries.

Does anyone know is Windows Media Player can perform bidirectional sync, the sync relationship icon reflects what I've been able to perform, i.e. unidirectional sync, I would like it to pull content from the phone over to WMP is possible.

Note: Samsung Galaxy S2 sync does not work when content is deleted from the library (Sony Ericsson Ray does work in this scenario).

Trying to work out how to stop it trying to convert video content.

Galaxy S2 also only auto-syncs on the second time it is connected (Ray works each time)
