Greetings,

I just got a second hand HTC Desire S 510b which has 3G - 850/2100. Phone is unlocked from Telstra One (Aust).
I checked the phone's IMEI on Telecom's website to see if it is compatible their 3G network, and got the okay.
But still the phone will not connect to the 3G network with my Telecom sim in it.

I originally got the phone to replace my old Nokia C2 work phone, which is on Vodafone, but found out after I got it, that it does not support the 3G – 900 required for Vodafone.

So, I decided to try the Vodafone sim in my personal phone, a HTC One V, which is supposed to support 3G – 850/900/2100. But once again no 3G on this setup either.

Any thoughts on what i can will much appreciate.

Cheers

When you say no 3G, do you mean the data connection, or any & all network connectivity? If the former, are the APNs correct? If the latter, have you tried scanning for networks manually?

Sorry, it's the data connection on both phones.
I've checked both phones APNs, and they're both blank.
I see I have the option of creating a new APN or resetting to default.
Should I setup a new APN, and how would I do it?

That's the problem right there. :)

Thank you all for your speedy replies and helpful info.

I followed your advice on setting up the APNs.

I now have both phones working on the 3G data connections.
