Looks like a fun but slightly expensive project,
But my biggest concern is the slipping shipping dates, in the video there was talk of "November" now the website talks of "Spring 2023"....
Texting is going to be a bit slow.

Eva888: Needs push buttons. Dials went out with the ark :)

Can it do one-handed thumb-dialling?
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
MadEngineer: I’ve always meant to grab an old NZPO phone and see if my SPA112 can drive it 🤣
Think you'll be pushing it. Even it it did work the dial would be around the wrong way 😇

Interesting box but a NZ Dial phone has the dial reversed from the rest of the world.

Reminds me of Agent 86 and the shoe phone. 99 is still alive.

Yip, can be made to fit
Can I use a phone with a non-standard dial?
Different rotary dial layouts
Most rotary phone dial layouts are the same, showing the numbers 0,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 clockwise around the face of the dial (type A above). However rumor has it that there are some strange and rare rotary phones which do not have a standard dial layout (types B, C and D). It is said that some of these were used in the early days in New Zealand and Sweden, although we've never seen one. If you are lucky enough to have one of these, then you can get Dialgizmo to change its dial mapping to suit. You will need to open the unit and change some little switches. Check section 6 of the Manual for more information.
Just gonna say it - that's a straight-up stupid and ugly looking phone.
